This lone soldier marched in Charlotte’s Saint Patrick’s day parade. There were floats, bands, bagpipes, and dancing children. But what moved me the most was this tribute to Ireland’s war service. Based on the uniform it would appear this was specific to WWI

Today I happened upon this professional photo shoot and I took a quick snap with my iPhone. It appears the goal was to advocate for efforts to keep the Charlotte Rail Trail clean.
Notice the perfect timing with the train entering the station.
This photo was taken at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and the light rail. The station is called the 3rd Street / Convention Center station.
Today’s photo shows the 330 South Tryon building, Charlotte’s newest office tower. The photo was taken from my office window.
Look to the left and you see the entrance to Latta Arcade. I like the blooming trees in front. You may remember my recent photo showing the inside of Latta Arcade
This sculpture is called Woman Grasshopper and can be found at the Bechtler Museum of modern art. The artist is Germaine Richer. The art work was created in 1946.

I took this photo because I liked the contrast of shadows and sunlight. The red brick building, in the background, sits behind Saint Peters Catholic Church and as you can see the building has a modern “church architecture“.
The building houses a pizza restaurant, a steak restaurant, and office space.

This photo shows the Apple Store at SouthPark Mall, five minutes after opening on a Sunday. They do a very brisk business and most customers enter the store ready to purchase.
This morning I purchased a set of AirPods. Over the last few years we have shifted to Apple in a big way. Not only iPhones .. we also have an Apple TV, an iMac, a MacBook, two Apple watches, and now two set of AirPods.

A while back we took our grandson to the Children’s library in Uptown Charlotte. This art by Allison … and a few others … caught my eye.
The Children’s library is at ImaginOn at 300 East 7th Street and offers a fun filled afternoon for families.
This was a quick snap in the Latta Arcade. It is a good place to grab lunch. Also, the old photos on the wall are enjoyable. However, the most enjoyable aspect is found at the end the arcade … it opens on to an open air pavilion which is lined with bars.

This statue is one of four at the intersection of Trade and Tryon in uptown Charlotte. The scene depicts a miner poring gold on the head of a banker!
The art work is called Commerce.
Personally I like that each statue is two separate pieces of art detecting an aspect of Charlotte’s history.

On a recent stroll I was surprised to see horses on Tryon. The scene is similar to a recent photo titled Dog Crossing. Both the horses and the dogs have little bit of a Beatles Abbey Road album cover feel.

Connie and I are enjoying a few vacation days at Seabrook Island which is four hours from Charlotte
