Construction crane

A construction crane at the Mint Residential site in Uptown Charlotte
This construction crane is one of many active in Uptown Charlotte. This specific crane is working on an 31 story apartment tower being built on top of the Mint Museum. Combined the height will be 43 stories.

The perspective of the photo makes it appear that taking this photo was precarious. However, they have built a concrete and metal deck for pedestrians to walk under … actually we walk the long way around because we don’t fully trust the deck.

This photo was taken at 500 South Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte. Following is a link to an article about Childress Klein to build apartment tower atop Mint Museum.

fish sculptures and fountains

A fish sculptures and fountains on the Green in Uptown Charlotte
Our Saturday morning rituals include taking coffee to the Green (a park in front of our condo) and enjoying the activity. We always sit on a bench next to the fish sculptures and fountains. The reason is because they come with built in entertainment. Watching the children play is a joy and this Saturday there was a wedding at Saint Peters Catholic Church next to the fountains. In the background of this photo you can see one of those attending in a very colorful dress.

good morning special

The good morning special at Dean and Deluca in Uptown Charlotte
The good morning special at Dean and Deluca in Uptown Charlotte was French Toast and bacon. And the gentleman behind the sign skillfully and graciously prepares our breakfast every Saturday. We always order bagel sandwiches but the special was very appealing. But what caught my eye was the #goodmorning hashtag (smile).

This photo was taken at 201 South Tryon Street. Following is a link to the Dean and Deluca website.

Whole Foods fish market

We visited the Whole Foods fist market in South Park
We had a very enjoyable weekend which included a visit to the Whole Foods fish market. While Connie order fish I snapped photos (smile). Actually we very much enjoy shopping at Whole Foods because they also have a wine bar. So every visit includes a glass of wine and a a sandwich from their deli … we are especially pleased that a Whole Foods store will be coming to Uptown in 2017 only one block from where we live.

This photo was taken at 6610 Fairview Road near SouthPark Mall. Following is a link the Whole Foods website.
