On the weekends, we enjoy walking on the Little Sugar Creek Greenway and we especially enjoy the trees. This tree is found at the entrance to Freedom Park. As you can see it was back lit by the evening sun.

Following are links to post of trees we have shared in the past.

This photo was taken at 1900 East Blvd. Following is a link to the Freedom Park website.

train

train in Freedom Park
Continuing a transportation theme, we are sharing this photo of the train at Freedom Park near Uptown Charlotte. We enjoy watching children play on this train when we visit the park. Our grandson plays on it regularly. A plaque says the train was built in 1920 and when retied was one of the last steam locomotives in regular service.

The sign post for Maudell’s garden is highlighted in today’s photo. To the right please notice the sign for Madeline’s garden. The gardens are named after Romare Bearden’s Grandmother and Mother.

Charlotte Marathon

Charlotte Marathon
The Charlotte Marathon was ran yesterday (November 12th) and as the photo shows it was cold. These two runners stayed warm with tin foil wrap. Actually this is a thing now and I assume you can buy these sheets in any running shop. I understand they are light weight and do a good job of blocking the wind.

This photo was taken at the intersection of South Tryon and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. For those who want to run next year; following is the Facebook page for the Charlotte Marathon.

message from Starbucks

a message fromStarbucks, be good to each other,
I find this message from Starbucks very timely. Be good to each other is always a good idea and at present something we need to work harder at. This message was found on the entrance door to a Starbucks in Uptown Charlotte. Bravo!

Please do the right thing; speak out against bigotry, be kind, be inclusive, in short be good to each other.

This photo was taken at 135 Levine Avenue of the Arts #140. Following is the website for Starbucks at the Duke Energy Center.
