As part of the Mecklenburg county “stay at home” order, only essential business activity are allowed. It appears construction is not only allowed it is expanding at a rapid pace. The City of Charlotte has start several street repair projects which as started after the “stay at home” order. Thank you to all the construction workers.

There are not many people on the street however, Matt’s Chicago Dogs is open for online orders and take out. Bravo!

Charlotte is under a stay at home order and we are all getting tired of cooking at home. A suggestion is to enjoy a treat from Amalies French Bakery and Cafe. They deliver or you can pickup your online order.

This photo was taken on an evening walk in Uptown. During the walk, we maintained six feet of physical distance with other walkers. However, physical distance is becoming harder and we regularly have to look for alternate routes.

Today’s photo shows the Bank of America Tower which was recently constructed. Of specific interest is the video wall in the lobby. Their website says that one of the amenities is a thirty-four by sixty-six foot video wall that can be viewed from the lawn in the entry plaza.

The cherry blossoms can be found all over Charlotte and even in Uptown with the skyline in the background.
The sun was out, the temperature were up, and the flowers were blooming. It was great to get out for a walk today. Given the pandemic we were careful to stay far away from others who were also enjoying the weather.

As we all practice social distancing and some of us are staying at home; boxes are a sign of our times. Like many others we are leveraging home delivery and the result is shown here. Lots and lots of boxes :)
This photo is of the Arlington condo complex in the South End near Uptown Charlotte. As you can see, the condo’s make a bold statement in pink. Also, note that each condo has a wall of windows on all sides. As a result the views are outstanding.

On our evening stroll, I took this photo of The 2nd Annual Bar Crawl. It was well attended even though large gatherings are banned due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The crowd was significantly smaller than last year.
Sharing a photo from a week ago. This is the Starbucks we stopped at when taking photos of the Peaches in the Pink.
This photo, of the le Meridien hotel, was taken because of the unique design on the side of the building. The hotel is associated with the Marriott Bonvoy and can be found at 555 South McDowell Street.
Recently I walked under a crane lift and took this photo. The street was closed to auto traffic but open to foot traffic. A very interesting perspective however I question my wisdom for stopping to take the photo :)

Wish I knew the story behind this mural. I noticed the mural on a recent walk in Uptown Charlotte. It can be found at the intersection of Brevard and 3rd Street.

The Charlotte lite rail system has a public service message which caught my eye. The message is “Tracks are not for photos!”. Note that I am not encouraging the behavior by also sharing the sign which encourages “Live on the Edge”.
In addition to sharing the public service message I am sharing a second photo which shows the popular Rail Trail which is next to the lite rail tracks. My wife and I, along which many others, enjoy walking the Rail Trail.
