Today photo shows the construction at 300 South Tryon the heart of Uptown Charlotte … this construction site is across the street from the office building where I work and the buildings in the background are apartments next the Romare Bearden Park.

This photo was taken at 300 South Brevard Street just outside of the ATT building in Uptown Charlotte. Interestingly I found an article which indicates ATT will be vacating the building in 2015. I wonder if they will take Alexander with them (smile).
Today’s photo shows the BOA Center which is the tallest building in Charlotte. Look closely, at previous photos, and you will often find it in the Charlotte skyline. A friend of mine had the good fortune to attend a party on the top floor … Uptown in the crown (smile).
The wikipedia article indicates that gold was found during excavation for the foundation of the BOA Center … Gold makes a solid foundation for a Bank (smile).

I took this photo because the evening light cast the Trademark Building in blue … It is interesting how light and shadows have such a significant impact on what we see … It is a beautify building with upscale condos which have outstanding views and in this case outstanding colors.

Looking up at 525 North Tryon in Uptown Charlotte … I took this photo yesterday while on a stroll through the plaza at 525 North Tryon … in the center of the plaza there was an X … I stood looking for the significance … then looked up.

Today’s photo shows the Hearst Tower … it is hard to share photos from Uptown Charlotte and not always take a photo looking up (smile) … to us this building represents several things, for example: when walking in the Overstreet Mall this is the final connecting building and we have to turn around here. But more importantly just across the street is the Dunhill Hotel bar which is our favorite place to eat. Also the Blue Restaurant and Bar are on the ground floor of the Hearst … We especially enjoy the live music performances at the Blue.

Today’s photo is symbolic … a thin building depicting a thin line between progress and and big step back … between good and bad … between at-a-boy and oh-snap … thing is I accidentally deleted the database for Charlotte daily photo … so at this point there are no archival post.
However as in the picture everything depends on your perspective. I have all of the photos backed up and this gives me a chance to re-load them and a chance to update the post with a focus on the search engine optimization … I’m trying to look at this with a positive perspective (smile).

We have always enjoyed this perspective of the Mecklenburg Government Center (CMGC) … it appears to be a very thin building however it is actually triangle shaped.

While on a walk, this last weekend, I took this photo at a lightrail station in the South End near Uptown Charlotte. Notice the pink building … it is one of Charlotte’s landmarks and is very interesting during the early morning sun. Those who own condo’s there have an outstanding view of Uptown Charlotte.

The Mint Museum is one of Uptown Charlotte’s treasures … it not only houses great art … the building itself is a work or art. Their website says it was designed by Machado and Silvetti Associates. Personally I like the lines and geometry of the building (smile).

The bar at the Dunhill Hotel is one of our favorite places to dine in Uptown Charlotte … One of Charlottes gems … We especially like that there is no TV, the bartender Pete knows us, and the other customers who frequent the bar. Also the food and drink are very good.

On an evening stroll the architecture of the Charlotte Ballet Academy in Uptown Charlotte caught my attention … then I noticed that classes were being held … it was a cold winter evening so I was impressed with the dedication these students had.
